. last holidays .
You know, last Monday during the holidays (4th-6th June), we went for the first training camp of the 2007 team at the Farm. It was great fun! And for the first time in my life, I actually kept my word about not going into the pond. You see, I ALWAYS say I don’t want to go into the pond. BUT I ALWAYS END UP IN IT ANYWAY! I get overpowered and thrown in by the guys always. Let me make myself clear. There’s a reason behind my not wanting to go into the pond. This “pond” is where uncle Andrew, the owner of the Farm disposes all the shit of his oh-so-beloved animals. And trust me. I didn’t believe it, thought it was a rumor, UNTIL I SAW IT FOR MYSELF! Yes friends. Shit.
So anyhoo, the classic part was, the 2007 team actually knew about the shit part, and yet they all jumped in. It was so funny. Last year we had to go catch the 2006 team to throw them in, but this year, this team helped themselves to it. What good sportsmanship. =) *salute* There’s definitely new and fresh ideas coming from them and it’s been nice. They’re a nice bunch. And of course the 2006 had their share of farewells. They sang the song “home” by Chris Daughtry. Was it? I hope I got it right. Anyways, they made this like photo scrapbook for Martin and this pewter-like thingy thing as a sign of their thanks to the advisors, aka Uncle Richard and Aunty Pat. What a nice ending.
So, we came home late on Wednesday night and we were absolutely pooped. So wait. I’m not done with church. THE NEXT DAY, we come back for a final rehearsal and brush up session with MJ. Yeappp. We come back again. Then, that’s not the end of our escapade.
On Friday, in the morning, Laura and I were “privileged” enough to join Denon and Rafie on their journey to KKB to visit Joshua in his NS camp (ALTHOUGH HE WAS COMING BACK THE NEXT DAY, SATURDAY). Rafie sped at an ass whoooooping 180-200km/h. Laura n I were in the back seat crying, dying, laughing and everything we could possibly think of. Oh and don’t forget cursing. =) haha. And finally there we were. It was wonderful to see Josh again. Bald! How adorable. haha. When he started singing to Wake me up when September ends, Laura and I couldn’t help but laugh. It’s been a long time since we’d heard his powerful voice. =) Then he asked us to go to the KKB town to get him some food, but we refused to do so. Then he black mailed us. Literally. So we went. Btw, I drove Raf’s Audi to town! whoopy! We got him 2 roti telur bawangs and two ayam goreng. And take my word for it, I’ve never seen anyone so happy at the sight of mamak or anyone gulp down so much food under 10 minutes!~
At 3 o’clock, it was raining cats and dogs! no wait. It was Pouring cows and pigs! It was Denon’s turn to drive home as we all had a turn that journey. Rafie drove to KKB, I drove to the town, Laura drove back to the NS site and so Denon was to drive home. Laura n Raf were fast asleep at the back seats so I took a picture, turned in front and laughed to myself. Then out of no where, *SNAP!* this Laura flicks my ear. Gee man. Lol. So anyway we reached back church right on time at 5, and left for CDM. Another church. We were there to assist MJ with his talks with our skits and testimonies. So we were there. The food we had, not bad. But somehow Laura n I came down with stomach aches in the night! We couldn’t make out if if was because of the KKB mamak or the dinner at CDM. So yeah.
I will not comment on the sound system there. So yeah. But I’ll just hint that we were sitting right in front, right in front of the speakers, and everything was booming loud. Every tom in the drum had a mike attached to it. Yeaps! And there even was a mike attached to the guitar speakers. Yeap. And, they were yelling through the mikes. I mean. Everything was good and all, except for the fact that the whole thing left my ear drums ringing till today. And no, I’m far from exaggerating. Now I know how it feels like to buy the most expensive ticket and sit right in front of the speakers at a rock concert. =) So yeah. it all ended on Saturday. We were Poooooped.
